About Me & BamBamsCoop (BBC Farms)
A little about me and why we started BamBams Coop (BBC Farm); I live in the country in Texas. I have a passion for the humane treatment of animals and clean living. In all honesty, clean living hasn’t always been a way of life for me but that was soon to change. I turned to clean living when I fell ill several years ago. For this reason, my ex-husband and I decided to move towards growing our fruits and vegetables, raise chickens for eggs honey bees, and create a refuge for wild animals. Furthermore, eating fresh food and using what God has provided us from the earth will make a difference in my health and the environment. Basically, we want to be self-sufficient and have started homesteading.

Our Transition To All Natural and Non Toxic
Next, Doterra essential oils have become a staple in our household because they are so versatile. Plus, I can use therapeutic grade essential oils on my pets, chickens and kids. Last but not least, cooking at home is part of our daily routine but only cooking with free-range, grass-fed, heritage pork and organic fruits and vegetables, whenever possible. We are still on our journey transitioning slowly to a more organic, sustainable, and natural lifestyle journey; it hasn't happened overnight for us. Furthermore, we are continually making changes to our lifestyle. After doing a lot of research and some trial and error, I learned how to make our own bath, skincare, cleaning products because that's the only way you can control what goes into them and you can save money.
Landscaping Projects And Wildlife
As was previously stated, we had a vision of what we wanted to accomplish with BamBams Coop Farm, but let me tell you – it is work, and it can get expensive in a hurry. We both have full-time jobs and learned quickly, we couldn’t do it all right away. Thus the first year we planted a pollinator garden, wildflowers, and Texas bluebonnets throughout the landscape plus outdoor landscape lighting. Next, we sowed native grass in our yard from seed instead of traditional grass. In fact, native grasses are low maintenance and require minimal watering.
Tip: You have to be patient with your flowers and grass. Wildflowers and Bluebonnets grow bigger every year. The first year you may only see a few flowers pop up but then you will see more the next year.
Also, we put up bird feeders and have supplied water for the abundant wildlife around the place. By the way, there are deer, squirrels, possums, rabbits, wild turkeys, birds of all kinds, including a plethora of hummingbirds, raccoons, and much more.
Lastly, this is just a little about me and who I am. Plus we want to share techniques, information, and companies who align with our BamBams Coop brand. Additionally, we have learned quite a bit in our journey and has helped me tremendously. Thus we want to share what we have learned. God bless. Eating clean, using non toxic products, and reducing my stress have really helped with my illness. Finally, we want to help, provide information, avenues, and knowledge via BamBamscoop com for those who are like-minded or are just curious about living a more sustainable, organic, or natural lifestyle.

Update: 12/18/2021
I no longer live in the country on a mini-farm. I divorced and moved back to the city. Although I no longer have chickens and goats, which is a bummer, it doesn't mean I can't continue with my sustainable and healthy lifestyle and continue working on being more self-sufficient. One of the bummers is I am starting all over. Now you can follow me on the journey of my DIY projects of recycling, upcycling different parts of my new house, new to me.
My new home is need of some renovations which I will have done slowly. Plus, the yard is in need of a pollinator garden.
