Link Between Diet and Acne
To some degree, we all know some foods can make acne better or worse. The most reliable evidence to date suggests a diet with a high intake of refined carbs such as French fries, candy bars, doughnuts can lead to insulin resistance, and androgenic hormones can make acne worse.
Three studies in the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology have reported a link between milk and acne. One study found teens had a 44 percent higher chance of developing severe acne if they consumed more than two glasses of milk a day. Thus, this may be because of the naturally occurring hormones in cow's milk and hormone supplements given to cows for increased milk production. Therefore there is a link between acne and dairy; there has not been a link with fermented dairy products such as Greek yogurt or kefir, a fermented dairy drink that you should add to your diet.
