Shower Bath Bombs – Need a break from a hard day, with these homemade shower bath bombs you will feel like you are at a spa.  Also, they are easy to make and you can customize the essential oils (EO) as you like.  Plus, when blending essential oils, blend a few drops just so you are sure you like the scent.  In addition, you can give these bath bombs as gifts; you can bundle with some homemade body butter or salve and soap.  You will need labels to place on your packaging, so you jot down the ingredients.


  • 2 – cups baking soda
  • 1 – cup citric acid (available at health food stores or online)
  • 2 – Tbsp of distilled water
  • 1 – Set of shower or bath bomb mold – (get it here)

  • 30 – drops of your favorite essential oil or mix it up – See my suggestions below or you can order an oil(s) of your choice here

Suggested Oils:

  • Soothing Evening Bath-Bombs: Add 30 drops of Serenity Essential Oil Blend – Restful Blend; into your batch for a comforting and relaxing aromatic effect burn some homemade not toxic candles for spa atmosphere at home.
  • For an Invigorating or Congestion Shower Bombs: Add 30 drops of Breathe Essential Oil Blend – Respiratory Blend; promotes a restful night's sleep and helps minimize the effects of seasonal threats.
  • to your batch for an invigorating or to help clear congestion from allergies or cold
  • Night Night Bath-Bomb: Add 15 drops of Lavender Essential Oil and 15 Bergamont Essential Oil drops of to your batch to enjoy a an aromatic & relaxing shower.
Tip: If you don't have distilled water on hand.  Make your own:  (saves you money and helps the environment)

1)  Bring the clear water to a rolling boil for 3 minutes.
2)  Let the boiled water cool.
3)  Store the boiled water in clean sanitized containers with tight covers.


  1. Mix together the baking soda and citric acid in a medium-size bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together water and essential oil.
  3. Using a stand mixer, add your dry ingredients then slowly
  4. Add the oil-water mixture a few drops at a time into the dry ingredients, stirring well after each addition
  5. When ingredients are thoroughly mixed, tightly pack into 2-inch balls using your hands, recommended mold, or a cookie scoop and press them together tightly.
  6. Set on a plate to dry.  Allow to dry for 12+ hours before using.

To enjoy your the aromatic experience of shower-bomb simply place one near your feet under warm running water.  Enjoy!\
